Borosilicate Glass system overhaul

The borosilicate glass system was rebuilt: new textures for every tier, standard block rendering in place of the old custom path, and two new tiers - Hexanite at UMV and Universium at UXV. UHV and above are foggy by default. A transparent version of each is made in the EBF with Hydrofluoric Acid and turned back to foggy in a chemical bath with Nitric Acid. Coloured Borosilicate and Cosmic Neutronium glass are gone, Infinity and Transcendent glass each dropped a tier, and every borosilicate maceration recipe now runs at the tier of its solidifier recipe. Glass you have already placed stops counting as a glass tier, so any machine built with it unforms.

Numbered structure hint holograms

Structure hint holograms now show a number from 1 to 12 on each block instead of a pattern of dots, so you can read off which block goes where. The hint items themselves are still named "Hint 1 dot" through "Hint 12 dots".

PCB Factory: upgrades become linked sub-multiblocks

PCB Factory upgrades are no longer part of the controller. Each one is now its own multiblock, built up to 16 blocks away on each axis and linked to the factory with a data stick, the same pattern as the Waterline, so you are no longer fighting the hologram projector's offsets. One upgrade can serve more than one factory, and the Cooling Tower now draws 10 L/s of coolant for each factory linked to it rather than 10 L/s in total. Autoplacing the main structure picks its tier from how many MSHPs you are holding.

SDL3 backend for input and Wayland

lwjgl3ify 3.0 replaces the GLFW backend with SDL3, for better Wayland support and to fix the modifier keys: left and right ALT and the right GUI key behave again as they did under GLFW. lwjgl3ify 3.x also needs different java arguments - --enable-native-access ALL-UNNAMED, plus --add-opens java.desktop/sun.lwawt.macosx=ALL-UNNAMED on macOS - and GTNHLib 0.6.2 or newer. A launcher instance you set up by hand needs its arguments updated.

Upgrade bus inventory, deprecate super buses

Input and Output buses from EV upward hold more items: 25 slots at EV, rising to 100 at UHV. Super buses are deprecated and no longer craftable, and recipes that required them (such as chisel buses) have been updated to use standard buses instead.

Algae Pond overhaul

The Algae Pond was rebalanced. Parallels drop from 2 to 1 and the machine-casing minimum rises from 64 to 75. Recipe time used to be the base duration multiplied by a random 0.5x, 1x or 1.5x roll that came out 0.5x about 96% of the time; it is now the full base value, fixed per casing tier, and the same casing block maps one tier lower than before. The bonus outputs that used to be a roughly 9% roll now come out 90% of the time. The Algae Pond has a proper NEI page, and its input hatch no longer has to match the casing tier.

Backhand offhand support across the pack

Backhand gives 1.7.10 a real offhand slot. Mods had to be taught about it one by one: without the adaptation the wrong item gets used, blocks get placed from the wrong hand, and held items render in the wrong place. The changes below are that adaptation, spread across the mods people interact with most. Two of them carry more than offhand support: AE2's Color Applicator now spends power and dye when it colours an AE tile, where it used to colour those for free, and the Infinite Spray Can's mouse handling was remapped to respect your own keybindings, so swapped left and right click works. Right-click insert from the offhand was added to Storage Drawers and then taken back out again.

BrandonsCore merged into Draconic Evolution

BrandonsCore has been folded directly into Draconic Evolution, removing it as a separate mod dependency. Other mods that referenced BrandonsCore internals (such as Backhand) have been updated to match.

Construction tooltips overhaul

Multiblock construction tooltips were standardised across GregTech: dimensions read LxWxH, hatch and casing requirements always carry an amount or a range, and structure errors come in one fixed order. Companion mods MatterManipulator, StructureLib and VendingMachine were updated to match, and StructureLib's subchannel text went from orange to aqua.

The same pull request also changed what a dozen machines require, so a machine you have already built can stop forming. Large Turbines now need 1 Dynamo Hatch and at least 1 Output Hatch; the Large Chemical Reactor and Electric Compressor need a Dynamo Hatch; Fusion Reactors, the Industrial Arc Furnace, the Spinmatron, the DTPF and the Accelerated Biological Coordinator now check for their energy, input and output hatches; the Eye of Harmony is capped at one Output Bus. The SOFC needs 1 input hatch instead of 2, and the Maintenance Hatch is no longer required on the YOTTank, DTPF, QFT or TPM. Non-data input hatches may now replace any casing on the Advanced Network Switch. Tooltips also stopped naming TecTech hatch support.

Fluid units respect GTNHLib config

Fluid displays in tanks, hatches and ModularUI2 GUIs now respect the GTNHLib fluid unit setting. With useForgeFluidMillibuckets enabled you see mB instead of L in tank and hatch readouts and in ModularUI2 fluid slots. Some multiblock scanner and tooltip lines still print L.

GT ore generation refactor across mods

Ore vein generation was overhauled. GT5U now generates veins on the Galacticraft planets too, which previously used GalacticGreg's own generator; GalacticGreg still handles asteroids. The Deep Dark Void Miner's ore table, which had been living in the core mod, moved into GT5U with the rest of the ore code. Mining or left-clicking an ore now marks its vein as prospected in VisualProspecting, and newly generated chunks register their veins as they are made. The IFU ore-finder wand works again: its tooltip shows, its damage value matches how many ores it found up to 10, and more than one player can use one at the same time.

GTPP custom material rendering overhaul

Chromatic Glass, Astral Titanium and Celestial Tungsten now have proper textures with baked animations instead of code-driven rendering, for their blocks, their fluids and their items - bolts, cells, plasma cells, frame boxes and superdense plates included.

ME hatches respect storage cell limits

ME output hatches and buses now read the restriction set on their installed storage cell and stop at whichever is smaller, the cell's capacity or its restriction. Setting a restriction is how you cap what a passive setup accumulates; before this, only the cell's raw size counted.

Shipped in: GT5-Unofficial #4985

Prospecting map visuals and performance

Ore veins and underground fluids now display with correct colours on JourneyMap (pink salt, orange limonite) instead of plain white, and ore vein markers are drawn on a background matching their dimension's stone. Both layers are now culled off-screen, and a fluid cell shows a colour gradient one zoom level before its label appears, so the layers cost far less framerate. The shipped default zoom levels at which ore and fluid labels appear also changed, so labels turn up at a different zoom than before unless you set your own.

Step assist overhaul for boots

Step assist was standardised across the Thaumcraft-family boots. It is on by default, it stops while you sneak, and the mods no longer fight each other over it. The boots' own in-game step toggle, stored on the item, is what turns it off; Avaritia's Infinity Boots instead got a config file option, Boots step up. Affected items are the Electric Boots of the Traveler, Thaumic Boots, Voidwalker Boots, Thaumic Exploration's special armour, Primordial Armor, Infinity Boots, and Modular Armor with EnderIO Dark Boots. The omnidirectional speed bonus is now on by default too, and Thaumic Boots default to 100% speed and 100% jump.

Target Chamber fixes and new beam recipes

The Target Chamber now checks the beam every tick while a craft is running instead of only at the start; when the energy, focus, particle or rate stops matching, progress stops rather than the craft failing. Its NEI page no longer duplicates the voltage line. New beam recipes were added: engraved lapotron chips in the Target Chamber with no LHC needed, and energized tesseracts at UIV and excited plutonium fuel at ZPM in the Beamcrafter.

TextureSet refactor and ore texture overrides

Copper, iron, gold, diamond and emerald ores have new custom textures, on top of a rebuilt texture-set system that makes per-material and per-stone-type ore art possible. Copper, gold and iron also got new raw-ore icons. A material has to opt in from code with TextureSet.withStoneOreTextures before a resource pack can supply art for one stone type, which is how bad matches like tetrahedrite on netherrack would be fixed; no material uses it yet.

Advanced Blast Furnace

Volcanus tooltips gained structure dimensions and the missing EU-discount line. The Pyrotheum Heating Vent is now the Pyrotheum Heating Hatch and you can fit more than one. Heat capacity now shows in Waila for the Volcanus, the Electric Blast Furnace, the Mega Blast Furnace and the Exothermic Hearth. The hologram projector also stopped asking for a Cryotheum Hatch while you build a Vacuum Freezer.

Black Hole Compressor

The Black Hole Compressor now resets its spacetime cost when the black hole closes on its own, voids the recipe in progress as soon as the hole goes unstable even while spacetime is being fed to the spacetime hatches, and treats zero stability as unstable everywhere: backend, Waila and tooltip. Waila text is now localised, and the hole's stability and the utility hatch's redstone output no longer move while the world is starting up.

Catalyst Housing, Ball Housing and Focus Input Bus reworked

The three hatches that hold NBT-bearing consumables - the Chemical Plant's Catalyst Housing, IsaMill's Ball Housing and the Lanthanide beamline's Focus Input Bus - now share a rewritten transfer path that drops the old per-slot rescan. The Focus Input Bus accepts any focus type in its input slots while still feeding a single type to the usage slots, and its capacity drops from 256 slots to 64.

Shipped in: GT5-Unofficial #5679

Chemical Plant

The Chemical Plant now supports CRIB, so catalysts keep working when a recipe comes from the cache; the same change gives IsaMill's milling balls the same treatment. Every hatch and bus - input bus, output bus, input hatch, output hatch, energy hatch and maintenance hatch - may now sit in any casing instead of on a fixed face, and so may the Catalyst Housing, which the tooltip now says. Painting a Ball Housing no longer separates milling balls by colour.

Clean up circuit assembler recipes

Circuit Assembler and Circuit Assembly Line recipes are now generated up front instead of being patched in when the server starts, so NEI shows the same recipe the machine runs.

Shipped in: GT5-Unofficial #5410, NewHorizonsCoreMod #1472

Cryogenic Freezer

BartWorks freezer recipe durations were computed from a material's proton count instead of its mass, which produced absurdities like one-tick zirconium freezing; they now use mass. Hot-ingot freezing dropped from 128 EU/t to 120, so it no longer needs a full MV amp. The hologram projector recognises the Cryotheum Cooling Hatch, the Cryogenic Freezer controller has an assembler recipe, and the Vacuum Freezer tooltip moved into the language files, so it is translated and changes with your language setting.

Dangote Distillus and the Mega Distillation Tower

The Dangote Distillus can now switch to Distillery mode at any height - it used to force Tower mode below 11 blocks and refuse the screwdriver - and its Distillery parallels changed from a flat 8 per voltage tier to 2 * floor((height + 1) / 3) per voltage tier. Its Distillation-Tower-mode speed bonus was cut from 3.5x to 3x while the Mega Distillation Tower's went up to 2x in distillery mode and 1.5x in tower mode, giving the MDT a use case; the MDT's bonus had also been applied inverted, slowing recipes down instead of speeding them up. The Dangote tooltip said 85% EU usage where the real figure is 15%, and the Distillery machine type was dropped from the DT and MDT tooltips because neither runs distillery recipes. The Dangote no longer forms without its 7 Clean Stainless Steel Machine Casings, ME output hatches had their fill and accept checks the wrong way round, and the Dangote, Matter Fabrication CPU, Research Station and High Current Industrial Arc Furnace gained in-GUI mode buttons.

Diamond and emerald tool modifiers now raise mining level by a configurable amount

A diamond or emerald added to a tool used to give one fixed step. The pack now sets how many mining levels one gem adds, and the boost can be applied more than once, each extra one costing another gem but no modifier slot. A diamond still cannot take a tool past diamond level, an emerald past bronze level.

Tools built before the change were then flagged with an "incorrect data" warning, because the new rule did not know the old behaviour where a bronze-level tool jumped a further step when given a diamond or emerald. Those tools are read correctly again. Tools other than hammers and pickaxes also capped at the wrong mining level.

Distillation Tower

A circuit-2 recipe turns 1000 L of plain Oil into 500 L of Lubricant in 20 seconds at 120 EU/t, the counterpart to the Distillery recipe and to the other Oil to Lubricant routes. Towers run again without Void Excess enabled, after an earlier refactor missed the output logic. The holographic hint on the top-centre block offered an Energy Hatch there, which the structure never accepted; it now reads Maintenance Hatch or Output Hatch.

Electrolyzer

49 compound gases and liquids that could only be electrolyzed as capsules now have fluid-input recipes at the same cost. GT++ ore electrolyzer recipes for Lanthanite (La), (Ce) and (Nd) listed Oxygen twice and emitted it twice; they no longer do. The auto-generated electrolyzer recipe for Fluorite is gone. The Industrial Electrolyzer accepts fluid input and output hatches again and checks for its muffler, and its tooltip now matches the reworked structure: 4 Tin and 4 Brass Item Pipe Casings rather than 12 each, with every hatch in an Electrolyzer Casing.

Endothermic Fridge

The Endothermic Fridge's autoplace budget was raised to match the later-game multiblocks, and its Subspace Cooling now grants perfect overclocks - one for Molten Infinity, two for Molten Spacetime, three for Molten Eternity - instead of a flat 2x/4x/8x speed multiplier. The flat multiplier fell behind the equivalent perfect overclock at high voltage, because a speed bonus cannot take a recipe below one tick and a perfect overclock can. Scanner information and Waila integration were added, and the structure check got its casing count, maintenance, muffler, input, output and glass-tier tests back, each naming which one failed.

ExoFoundry

Two balance passes. The Universal Collapser can now run UIV+ recipes without a Heliocast Reinforcement module and its base speed doubled; the Superstable Core pairing became random and wants 3 Heliocast Reinforcement modules where it wanted 2; input hatch allowance with the Universal Collapser went from about 5 to about 10; the Sentient Overclocker's factor went from 0.35 to 0.4; Streamlined Casting with Extra Casting Basins was buffed and 3-or-more Heliocast Reinforcement pairings nerfed. The tooltip now says a module is required for UIV+ recipes, and input separation can be toggled. A foundry with modules counts its hatches correctly, the minimum casing check was inverted so "too many hatches" fired in the wrong case, and the symmetry and block placement bugs are fixed. The 3D models the ExoFoundry and the other model-rendered multiblocks use are cheaper to draw.

Exothermic Hearth

The Exothermic Hearth supports unlimited tier skips, and its tooltip says 864 Heating Coils where it said 860. Its heat was computed from the base input voltage rather than the total power supplied, so extra energy hatches did nothing; it now reads the total. Heat capacity shows in Waila, scanner information was added, and the structure check got its casing, maintenance, muffler, input, output and glass-tier tests back. Hatch autoplace was added to the hologram projector for the Hearth along with the Industrial Electromagnetic Separator, the beamline multiblocks, LINAC, Source Chamber and Synchrotron.

Extreme Entity Crusher

The Extreme Entity Crusher can now be rotated: the render, the box the mob is lit by and the auto-placed spikes all follow the controller's orientation. It accepts the Debug Energy Hatch, no longer demands an input bus to form, and its sounds play from the centre of the machine instead of one corner.

Extruder

The Industrial Extruder now forms when Crafting Input Buffers are its only inputs, and the Mold (Pellet) was renamed to Extruder Shape (Pellet). Four new Extrusion Bus hatches, I through IV, were added with their own shape slot. The wire mold is deprecated and the Kevlar spinneret recipe was updated accordingly, and the extruder gained the missing stripped-log recipes.

The Eye of Harmony's star, star field and orbiting planets render more smoothly and no longer spin while the game is paused in singleplayer, and its hatches use the right texture overlay. Its output distribution was rebalanced to send more to the Void Miner. It no longer accepts ME Stocking Input Hatches - it needs exactly two regular input hatches - and it re-checks its recipe when its inputs change rather than on a timer.

Forge of Gods

The plasma fabricator was rescaled: every plasma module recipe moved down one tier with its recipe time doubled, base parallel went from 384 to 512, and the GGEBE upgrade's overclock factor changed from a flat 2.3 to 4 - 25000 / Heat, with Power Forges and Melting Cores on a flat 2.15. Magmatter unlocks one upgrade earlier, swapping places with the third ring. A voiding bug in the Plasma Module is fixed, the battery charge is stored as a long so a large stellar fuel reserve no longer overflows or breaks the GUI, and fuel consumption factors are capped so they cannot overflow either. Stocking hatches drop unnecessary AE operations, which makes their checks two to three times faster.

Fusion Reactor

The minimum-tier requirement was removed from the Fusion Reactor's non-energy hatches, so a UHV advanced stocking input hatch works on an Mk-V; energy hatches keep theirs. Crafting Input Buffers work again on both the Compact Fusion and the regular Fusion Computer. Reactors no longer get stuck at the end of a craft with fluid still showing. The energy detector cover works on fusion reactors again, the Compact Fusion 5 energy hatch got its missing texture, Fusion Casings Mk III and Mk IV got connected textures, and Fusion Casings 1 and 2 got full MCPatcher CTM with a glowing coil. The Fusion Computer's GUI was ported to ModularUI2.

GUI titles localised across the pack

Two dozen mods had hardcoded English GUI titles. They are now localisation keys, so a translated pack no longer switches back to English the moment you open a machine. In GregTech, a machine's paint colour no longer tints the whole GUI background, slots and buttons: it shows as a swatch beside the title, with a tooltip naming the colour, and it still respects the coloredGUI config. Long multiblock GUI titles wrap instead of running off the edge.

High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor

The HTGR lost its Light Concrete floor, and every TRISO and BISO fuel pebble is now a distinct item with its own base output, multiplier and exponent: the power modifier is base x multiplier^exponent and the recipe time is divided by the exponent squared. Fuel pebbles made before this update are not converted and are lost; craft them again. Glowstone fuel was cut by 67.5% and uranium raised by 10%, and a sunnarium breeding recipe was added alongside changes to the alternative americium and europium recipes and to uranium enriching. An ME Input Hatch crashed the reactor; it no longer does. A reactor whose output hatch is drained wakes up again, the rendered casing is fixed, output mode logic was corrected, and the GUI now shows how full the reactor is.

Implosion Compressor

The Implosion Compressor now requires a Muffler Hatch as part of its structure; existing builds without one will need a Muffler Hatch added after this update. The single-block Industrial Apiary got a power button in its GUI, new 16x16 upgrade textures, and an info tooltip that updates when you swap upgrades. Its temperature reading ignored the height it was built at, which matters for the lapotron bee; it now uses the biome temperature at the machine's own position. Its accelerated secondary bee effect was fixed, and it no longer crashes on a rare server rejoin.

Large Molecular Assembler

The LMA was ported to MUI2 with lag fixes. Patterns in a Pattern Provider bus now show up in the interface terminal and can be worked with there; patterns in the older input buses still do not. The Pattern Provider input bus is now tiered: IV, LuV, ZPM, UV and UHV versions holding 36, 45, 63, 81 and 99 patterns. A processing pattern put into the LMA used to crash the server in a loop; the LMA now skips any pattern that is not a crafting pattern.

Mega Industrial Apiary

Opening the Mega Industrial Apiary with thousands of bees crashed the client, because the GUI sync packet went past the 32KB limit. Looking at a running controller cost FPS and network bandwidth on its own, and a large enough bee count hung the server. The bee list is now aggregated by species and production speed, stripped of the NBT it does not need, and paginated at 36 per page.

204004 identical queens folded into one slot, which is what stopped the sync packet overflowing

The interface was rebuilt on ModularUI2, and the bee list is made of real slots now, so NEI reaches into it: double-click the NEI search field to switch on inventory search, and every bee that does not match the search greys out. An icon appears when there is no room for another bee.

The ModularUI2 interface while the apiary runs, with each comb and the rate it comes out at

The structure was made symmetric over three breaking fixes, so an existing Mega Apiary has to be rebuilt to the shape in this release, and it takes any OreDict plankWood or slabWood now instead of only the six vanilla wood types.

Also: a crash when a valid bee was replaced with an invalid one, a controller that voided its queens when broken, input mode lag, water the structure places for you, and a sound muffling widget.

Multiblock tooltips ported to markdown

Multiblock tooltips across GoodGenerator, TecTech, KekzTech, KubaTech and the Space Elevator modules were converted to markdown, which makes them translatable. Two of them were also wrong: the Forge of Gods block list named a "Stellar Energy Casing", which is not a block, where it meant the Stellar Energy Siphon Casing, and "Tungstencarbide" was misspelled. Russian translations were corrected as part of the migration.

Nano Forge

The Nano Forge was ported to MUI2. It is built from Advanced Iridium Plated Machine Casing rather than europium casing, and its casing minimum dropped from 2784 to 2780 to leave room for more hatches. Opening the NEI structure preview for a T4 Nano Forge crashed the client, because the hatch autoplace had no player to place for; it no longer does. T4 no longer demands a maintenance hatch, and its survival autoplace uses the Forge of the Gods budget logic, so it finishes faster.

The Waterline now runs continuously at the correct power draw and cycle timing. A linked unit may sit 64 blocks from the controller on each axis instead of 32. The GUI was rebuilt in ModularUI2: each unit now has a distinct idle status, the controllers are listed 1 to 8 instead of in connection order, and the per-machine detail moved into tooltips on the status icons.
