Optional rebuild (45)
Nothing breaks and there is nothing you must do. What you already built keeps running as the deprecated -Legacy controller. When you want the new structure, break the old controller, use its conversion recipe to swap it for the new one, and rebuild to the new shape.
- GT5-Unofficial #7013 Mega Oil Cracker received a structure rework with new casings, symmetrical layout, and improved scaling factor that provides better use of coils.
- What to do: Existing Mega Oil Crackers keep running as the Legacy controller. The new symmetric build uses the new casings and rescales the coil bonus so coils above HSS-G are worth it. Convert the old controller in an assembler at LuV and rebuild only if you want it.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6868 Reworked Mega Distillation Tower with a new structure design from a contest submission, significantly increasing its power and speed capabilities while maintaining lower EU efficiency than the Dangote distillery.
- What to do: Existing Mega Distillation Towers keep running as the Legacy controller. The new one is a five-tier LuV/Naquadah machine (3 output hatches at T1 up to 11 at T5) that also runs distillery recipes. Convert the old controller in an assembler at LuV; the tier change means there is no crafting-table recipe.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6714 Complete structure rework of the Mega Vacuum Freezer (MVF) with new design, mechanics, and gameplay changes.
- What to do: Your Mega Vacuum Freezer keeps running exactly as it is and is already the Legacy controller. The new ZPM Endothermic Fridge is a separate controller; craft it, or convert the old one with the assembler recipe, only if you want it.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6633 Restructured Industrial Cutting Factory with a new contest-winning design, improved textures, and energy hatch tier balancing based on sawblade tier.
- What to do: Your Industrial Cutting Factory keeps running as the Legacy controller with its old shape. The new contest structure is a separate controller whose energy hatch tier is capped by its sawblade tier; build or convert to it only if you want it.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6562 Restructures XL Turbines to use a GUI-based turbine slot system instead of rotor assembly, implementing the community-designed structure by VorTex.
- What to do: Your existing XL Turbines keep running on the old structure with their Rotor Assembly hatches. If you want the new GUI turbine-slot version, convert the controller with the new recipe and rebuild to the new layout.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6548 Mega Blast Furnace has been restructured as ZPM tier with a new mechanic where the hearth heats up during operation, improving efficiency as it runs.
- What to do: Your Mega Blast Furnace keeps running exactly as it is and is now registered as the Legacy controller. The ZPM-tier Exothermic Hearth with the hearth-heating mechanic is a separate new machine; craft it, or convert the old controller with the assembler recipe, only if you want it.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework

- What to do: Existing Maceration Stacks keep running as the Legacy controller, T2 upgrade included. Tier 1's shape is the same as before and Tier 2 is larger and four times faster; convert the old controller in a crafting table (the upgrade tier carries over) and rebuild only if you want the new T2.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6257 Refactored Industrial Fishing Pond to use new structure definition with MTEExtendedPowerMultiBlockBase.

- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6252 Refactored Naquadah Fuel Refinery to use new structure with improved mechanics and hatch placement logic.
- What to do: Existing Naquadah Fuel Refineries keep running as the Legacy controller with their old hatch placement. The new design lets hatches sit anywhere; convert the old controller with the NEI migration recipe and rebuild only if you want it. The Legacy controller goes away in the next major version.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6251 Refactored boiler multiblocks to use new structure definition with improved base class and casing dependency system.
- What to do: Your existing Large Boilers keep working unchanged as the Legacy controllers. The crafting recipe now yields the new controller, and a shapeless recipe converts an old controller into the new one - rebuild only if you want the new design.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #6182 The Molecular Transformer has been restructured with a new compact design from a community contest.
- What to do: Existing Molecular Transformers keep running as the Legacy controller. Convert the controller and rebuild to the larger community design only if you want it; the Legacy controller goes away in the next major version.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework

- What to do: Your existing Flotation Cell keeps working as the Legacy controller. Rebuild to the new structure only if you want it - the conversion recipe swaps the old controller for the new one.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework

- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #5893 Refactored the Mega Chemical Reactor with a new structure design offering more flexible hatch placement and improved gameplay balance.
- What to do: Existing Mega Chemical Reactors keep running as the Legacy controller. The new controller uses the identical block layout, so swapping the controller with the NEI shapeless recipe is enough; after that any hatch can sit on any Chemically Inert Machine Casing. Note the new one takes exactly one energy hatch, capped by your glass tier (laser hatches need UV glass or better).
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #5888 Refactored the Industrial Packager (Amazon Warehouse) multiblock with a new structure design, improving tiering and performance bonuses.
- What to do: Existing Amazon Warehousing Depots keep running as the Legacy controller at their flat 600% speed. The new build scales from 100% to 800% with the item pipe casing tier, so a Tin-pipe build is slower than what you already have; use Black Plutonium pipes to come out ahead. Nanochip recipes now consume the new controller, so convert your spares.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #5885 Refactored the Centrifuge multiblock with a new structure design by Ducked, deprecating the old controller while maintaining backward compatibility.
- What to do: Existing Industrial Centrifuges keep running as the Legacy controller. Convert to the new controller and rebuild only if you want the roomier hatch layout and the momentum mechanic; the Legacy controller goes away in the next major version.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #5877 Restructured the Wire Mill multiblock with tiered speed bonuses.
- What to do: Existing Industrial Wiremills keep running as the Legacy controller at up to 300% pipe-tier speed. Convert the controller (shapeless, in NEI) and rebuild only if you want the new 400% cap and the roomier casing layout, and note that Nanochip recipes now require the new controller.
- Told in Multiblock structure rework
- GT5-Unofficial #5875 Added a new structure for the Extreme Industrial Greenhouse multiblock.
- What to do: Existing Extreme Industrial Greenhouses keep validating their old structure on their own; their stored NBT is tagged revision 1. If you break and re-place the controller it will accept nothing but the new structure, so rebuild before you move one. New builds get auto-tilling, auto-water and autoplace; old ones do not.
