GuideNH In-Game Guide Framework
GuideNH is an in-game guide framework that lets players open interactive guides directly within Minecraft using a configurable keybind. It features full Markdown rendering, NEI recipe integration, interactive 3D multiblock previews, bookmarks, history, searchable content, and support for custom tags and localization.

Output side selection in singleblock GUI
Singleblock machine GUIs now allow players to select which side outputs items or fluids without rotating the machine. Directional arrow buttons and a back-face button let you easily configure output directions from the GUI.

Instantly Connecting Pipes
All GregTech fluid pipes, item pipes, and cables now connect instantly when placed, eliminating the visual delay players previously experienced. Pipes and cables will only connect to blocks you explicitly connect them to, not automatically to all nearby pipes and cables.

New Main Menu Backgrounds
Coming to version 2.9 are 23 new background images sourced from NASA and ESA, featuring photography from the Hubble Space Telescope, James Webb Space Telescope, and the Artemis II mission. The main menu itself has also received a visual overhaul for improved clarity.



Instant-On Multiblock Recipe Checks
Multiblocks now detect inventory changes instantly using event-driven updates instead of periodic checks, reducing startup times and improving TPS for bases with many idle machines. Input buses, output buses, data sticks, and stocking buses all trigger recipe evaluation immediately when their inventory changes.

Large Hadron Collider and Beamcrafting
The Large Hadron Collider is a new UV+ multiblock that replaces the compact cyclotron, accelerating particles and colliding them to generate new particles based on collision energy. Beamcrafting introduces a new machine that uses item, fluid, and particle beam inputs to craft advanced materials, with supporting beam infrastructure (mirrors, stabilizers, splitters) for routing.

Visual Keyboard provides an on-screen keyboard for viewing and rebinding keys at a glance, including a Key Map button to see all current binds and conflicts. Integration with lwjgl3ify's keyboard layout detection displays the actual key you're binding on non-QWERTY layouts instead of the QWERTY equivalent.

Field Engineer's Toolbox
A tiered upgrade to the IC2 toolbox with dedicated slots for tools and a battery. Use the Pick Block key to open a radial menu and equip tools without removing them from the toolbox, letting you build and configure machines directly from your inventory.

Crafting Station and Compartment Improvements
Crafting stations now remember which items came from your inventory versus side inventories and return them accordingly. Directional Arrows in Quest Book
Quest lines in the quest book now display directional arrows (chevrons) to help visualize the flow of quests and progression. A new toggle button lets you enable or disable these arrows, and hovering over a quest will animate all connected lines-this animation effect can also be turned off in the config.

Pinnable inventory and backpack slots
Pin important items in place by Ctrl+Middle-clicking slots in your inventory, backpacks, and adventure backpacks to protect them from accidental sorting, drop-off, or bulk transfers. Pinned slots display customizable visual indicators with 9 icon styles and adjustable offsets.

OreDictionary Support in Machine Recipes
Machines can now accept OreDictionary items in recipes in addition to specific item stacks, allowing more flexible recipe definitions. This significantly reduces recipe duplication by letting recipes reference oredict entries like $cobblestone instead of only exact items.

Improved ArchitectureCraft lighting
ArchitectureCraft blocks now have improved lighting that mimics vanilla more closely. Slopes no longer show horizontal dark lines, and transitions to full blocks are smoother than ever, with full compatibility when using Angelica shaders.

Bubble columns have been moved out of experimental and significantly enhanced with improved visuals, particle effects, and directional water current behavior.

Quest Completion Percentage Display
The quest book now displays the total number of quests completed along with a completion percentage. Chapter completion text has also been updated to show percentages, helping players track their overall progression through the quest book at a glance.

Custom JourneyMap Mob Icons
Nearly every mob in the modpack now has a custom icon and will be visible on JourneyMap, improving exploration, base defense, and mob hunting. This feature enhances map functionality by displaying previously unmapped mobs.

ChromaticTooltips Tooltip Overhaul
ChromaticTooltips has been added to the modpack, completely overhauling tooltip appearance with gradient borders, item icons, smooth animations, and structured information sections. The tooltip style can be customized via resource packs for a more readable and visually appealing look.

Fluid Canning Machine Merged
The Fluid Canning Machine has been merged into the standard Canning Machine, which now handles both fluid and solid recipes in a unified machine. The TurboCan Pro is no longer a multi-mode machine, and existing Fluid Canners are now deprecated but will continue to work until removed in a future update.

NEI Ore Stats Visual Upgrade
The Vein Stats, Small Ore Stats, and Underground Fluid Stats pages in NEI have received a visual redesign. Hovering over worlds now shows the spawn chance percentage for veins, and the "See All" button has been replaced with direct clicking on the vein/ore/fluid name.

A complete in-client color system for Minecraft text with support for 16 classic colors, 16 million RGB hex colors, gradients, rainbow and wavy text effects, and formatting like bold and italic.

Shift-break clears covers and color

Ore Refactor
A comprehensive overhaul of GT New Horizons' ore generation system that removes ore tile entities, unifies vein generation across GT, Bartworks, and GT++, rewrites asteroid generation to be more common but smaller, and adds more stone types for ores. The system should now feel smoother with better vein placement and improved NEI integration.

Tool Revamp
Electric tools have been rebalanced with expanded tier availability and new customization options. Wire Cutters, Electric Files, and Jackhammers now come in LV-HV variants, tools can be crafted with Sodium, Cadmium, or Lithium batteries, and textures have been improved to reflect material tiers and exotic material variants.

Electric Prospector Improvements
The Electric Prospector's scanner UI has been significantly enhanced with a search bar to find ores, a directional arrow showing which way you're facing, and improved map navigation that scales to your screen. Combo Keybinds
Controlling now supports combo keybinds, allowing you to hold modifier keys like Ctrl, Alt, or Shift while pressing other keys for extended keybind functionality. This backported feature includes a public API for mods to integrate with modifier keybinds, though combo keybinds currently don't work inside GUIs.

Large Neutralization Engine
A new EV-tier multiblock acid generator that burns alkalis to produce energy while managing a volatile toxic residue system. The generator features new materials like Francium Hydroxide, increased fuel values for acids, and a Toxic Residue Sensor Hatch for advanced automation, but pushing it too hard will cause catastrophic explosions.

Baubles UI Update
The Baubles inventory now displays as multiple columns by default instead of a single scrolling column, improving layout. A scrollbar only appears when there are more than 32 bauble slots. Players who prefer the original single-column layout can restore it by setting maxColumns to 1 in the Baubles.cfg config file.

Boilers Mechanic Overhaul
Large boilers receive a major balance and mechanic update, with 20% higher base output, improved diesel fuel efficiency, the ability to consume solid and fluid fuels simultaneously for a 25% steam boost, and a new gradual efficiency loss mechanic when offline.

Aspect Recipe Index is a new standalone mod that replaces TCNEIAdditions and brings comprehensive Thaumcraft integration to NEI. It displays aspects, arcane crafting recipes, infusion recipes, alchemy recipes, wand crafting, and runic shielding upgrades with improved performance and visual alignment.

Void Miner Ore Filtering UI

Deprecate Buffered Dynamo for 4A TecTech
Early-game multiblock power generation is simplified by allowing TecTech 4A dynamo hatches in place of the old buffered dynamos. Players can convert their existing buffered dynamo hatches to new 4A TecTech ones via a crafting recipe, with the old hatches being fully deprecated and removed in a future update.

Shared space elevator inputs
Space Elevator mining modules can now share computation and plasma resources across all modules, simplifying multi-block setup and resource management. Precise per-module control is still available by placing hatches directly in modules, and all existing setups remain compatible.

Enchanting Automation
Full automation support for enchanting machines: the Thamic Bases Overchanter, Draconic Evolution Disenchanter, and EnderIO Enchanter. These machines now accept hoppers and automatically drain experience from Automagy XP jars or EIO XP Obelisks within range, with redstone-triggered crafting.

InGame Info XML now supports a second optional HUD configuration file. Use the toggle key to cycle between your primary layout, a secondary layout (InGameInfo2.xml), or turn the HUD off completely.

GTNH 2.8.2-2.8.4 Release Highlights
The 2.8.2-2.8.4 release re-enables Open to LAN (with strong warnings), makes the Certus Quartz Tank more versatile, and removes industrial diamond crafting from the singleblock Compressor. NEI recipe displays have also been improved, and several deprecated items have been cleaned up.
